On Sunday, November 24, at 4:00 pm in Lehman Auditorium there will be an opportunity to hear two excellent large pre-college musical ensembles in concert. The Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir will perform first with the Treble and Concert choirs directed by Dr. Janet Hostetter. The choirs will perform a variety of works including classical, contemporary, gospel, and world music.
Then the Shenandoah Valley Youth Symphony, under the direction of Dr. Yi-Ping Chen, will perform the Finale of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and the first movement of Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor, featuring senior soloist Rachel Helm. The concert will end with the Choirs and Symphony together performing the American folk song “Shenandoah,” followed by an arrangement of “Sussex Carol.”
A $7 requested donation will benefit the SVCC and SVYS scholarship funds. People of all ages are sure to enjoy this concert!
